Buying Irish Oak uPVC French doors
About Irish Oak
Irish Oak is a warm mid-brown woodgrain that looks like timber without the upkeep. These doors are made in Irish Oak to your exact sizes, taking about 5 weeks. See every finish side by side in our colour guide.
Sizes
Enter the outside frame width and height in millimetres, including the cill in the overall height. If you’re not sure of the frame size or fitting allowance, check with your installer before you order, because made-to-measure doors can’t be returned.
How to measure
Measure the opening brick to brick in at least three places for the width and three for the height, use the smallest of each, then take 10mm off for fitting. Never measure the old frame. Our measuring guide walks through it step by step.
Which door should open first?
One door is the master: it has the handle you use day to day and opens first. The other is held shut by bolts and opens when you need the full width. Choose the side you walk through most, and whether the doors open in or out, which affects furniture and the swing over the patio. Our guide to French door opening direction explains the choices.
Energy efficiency
Every door meets the 1.8 W/m²K U-value that Building Regulations require for doors. Upgrading to thermal spacer bars improves it to 1.4 W/m²K. See energy ratings and U-values.
What happens after you order
Our transport manager books your delivery as soon as you order, and you get your delivery date straight away. Up to 48 hours before, you get a notification confirming the date, and on the day a 2-hour time slot. You can follow the driver live for the last 30 minutes. Deliveries run 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday, anywhere on the UK mainland for £90. See delivery.
