Two patio door prices are only useful to compare when they cover the same specification. A starting price may use different dimensions or selected options from your planned order. Before choosing a door, put the two configurations side by side and check what you will actually receive.
Start with the same door configuration
Write down the frame material, pane layout, overall width and height, and the intended opening side. Compare equivalent configurations rather than a stock-size door with a different made-to-measure specification. Record the viewing direction used for the master-door selection so that left and right mean the same thing in both quotes.
Check both faces of the frame. For example, Swift’s black uPVC sliding patio door offers a white or black interior. Two quotes labelled “black patio door” could therefore describe different finishes.
Separate included items from selected extras
Make three short lists: included in the quoted price, selected at extra cost, and still to be confirmed. Do not assume that a feature shown in a product photograph is included in your configuration.
The white two-pane uPVC sliding patio door has separate choices for handles, cill, trickle vents, a fixing kit, internal blinds, a cylinder upgrade and decorative glazing options. Check the choices you actually selected and the resulting price. An available option is not necessarily part of the default specification.
Ask for the glazing and thermal specification to be written down. If a quote uses a performance figure, confirm what it describes and whether it applies to your selected door. Your installer can help check the specification against your project’s requirements.
Confirm cills, installation and delivery separately
Check whether the overall quoted height includes the cill and whether the cill itself is included in the price. On Swift’s white sliding-door form, the size instructions ask you to include the cill in the overall height. A different supplier may describe order dimensions differently, so reconcile the measurement basis before comparing totals.
Confirm whether each quote is supply only or includes installation. Ask separately about removal of the old door, disposal, making good and any building work your project needs. These should be explicit parts of the quotation rather than assumptions.
Check VAT, delivery charges, delivery access arrangements and the expected lead time for the exact order. Record whether the date is an estimate or a confirmed slot. If information on a product page and a delivery policy differs, ask for clarification before paying or booking installation.
Keep a final comparison record
- Product name, material, pane layout and inside/outside finish.
- Order dimensions, cill detail and outside-view opening direction.
- Glazing, hardware and every selected extra.
- Total price, VAT, delivery and installation scope.
- Confirmed lead time, warranty terms and the applicable returns information.
Save the dated quotation or configuration summary. Compare the two-pane uPVC sliding patio doors, then contact Swift Aluminium with any unanswered specification questions before ordering.
